World Congress

The International Executive Council (IEC) is the supreme body of the International Police Association, and has overall responsibility for it.

IEC Antalya 2009, Participants meet before the session.

IEC Paris 2010, IPA Commemorative Parade to the Arc de Triomphe.

The IEC is composed of one delegate from each Section and of the International Executive Board (IEB). The IEC meets every year at an IPA World Congress. Elections to the IEB are held every four years. In the past, Congresses without elections were known as IEC meetings.

The delegate from each Section, providing voting rights have not been suspended in accordance with the Association's rules, is invited to attend the IPA World Congress at the expense of the Association.

Each member section and the IEB have one vote in the IEC. Where a Section is prevented from attending, that Section may be represented by another Section.
